We built Lann Gyaung because we know how it feels to be far from home, searching for a door to open. The last thing you need is to worry about who's watching. So let us be straightforward, the way an older sibling would be: here is everything we do with your information, and nothing is hidden.
Reading the site costs you nothing
Browsing universities, scholarships, the admissions guide, the living guide — all of it is completely anonymous. We don't know who you are, which pages you read, or how long you stayed. There are no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, no analytics beacons watching your session. Your search is yours alone.
Bookmarks live on your device
When you bookmark a university or scholarship, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage — on your phone or computer, not on our servers. We never see it. If you clear your browser data, the bookmarks go with it. We have no record of what you saved.
When you share an interview question
The Interview Prep page lets anyone share a real question they were asked. If you choose to submit one, here is exactly what we keep:
- The question text you wrote
- The university and program you picked from the list
- The year of the interview, if you provide it
- Your name and email — only if you choose to include them. These are optional. Most people leave them blank.
Your IP address is used only to prevent spam — we allow three submissions per hour per connection. That count is held in memory and resets automatically. It is never written to our database or stored anywhere permanently.
Every submission goes into a moderation queue. Our team reviews it before it appears publicly. If your question is approved, the question text and university context become visible to other students. Your name and email — if you gave them — are only ever seen by our team and are never shown publicly.
When you send us feedback
If you report a mistake or send us a message, we only keep what you write. We never link it to your identity unless you tell us who you are. Once the issue is resolved, the report has served its purpose — we treat it accordingly.
Your language choice stays with you
Language and display preferences are stored on your device, not on our servers. You don't sync with us. You don't log in. Nothing about your experience here requires us to know who you are.
We have no business model built on your data
We will never sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers or third parties. If sponsored content ever appears on this site, it will be clearly labeled and will never change the rankings, listings, or guidance we give you. Our only job is to help you find your path.
We keep what little we hold safe
The small amount of data we do store — submitted interview questions, feedback reports — lives in a secured database with row-level access controls. Only our admin team can read it. We don't log more than we need to operate the site.
You can ask us to delete anything
If you submitted an interview question, sent feedback, or shared anything with us and want it removed — just ask. Email us at feedback@lanngyaung.org and describe what you submitted. We will find it and delete it. No questions, no friction.
If you have any other questions about how we work — or just want to talk — write to us. We read every message and respond as a person, not an automated system.
This policy describes what we actually do today. If our practices ever change, we will update this page and note the date. We won't hide changes in fine print.
